In the edition of the year 1990, the pilot Alain de Cadenet upon his arrival in Tehuacán, Puebla. Left the hotel room assigned to one of the mechanics of his staff, and chose to accept the wonderful invitation of a humble family from Tehuacán to spend the night at home.
The English participant calmly took a shower, dined beans with a comal tortilla and enjoyed a delicious pot coffee.
Next morning, Alain woke up with the surprise of finding his competition overalls totally clean, a breakfast prepared and if that was not enough, the pilot arrived at the starting line on a tricycle in which his host sold tamales!
Ready to start and perfectly rested, Alain said that despite the language barriers, this was one of the most wonderful experiences of his life.
